St Declan was Pre-St Patrick
He was baptised by local Priest
Colman. He went to Europe,
was ordained Priest and Bishop.
He returned to Ardmore and
evangelised in this area.
His tomb is in the above.




King John's Castle Carlingford

This is not a monastic photo
but is an example of the
the many castles in Ireland.
This castle was built in 1200 A.D.
by the Normans and remained
in use for almost 500 years.
